What is a Roller Surfer?

Roller Surfer is a two wheeled skateboard with a flexible spring loaded beam that allows you to self propel without your feet ever leaving the board. This is all possible due to the flexible connector between the front and back wheels which allows both ends of the board to pivot and in turn propel. Working on a similar principle of movement as a snowboard, all you need to do in order to gain speed or take turns is flex or rock along the lengthwise axis of the board. This means your feet never have to move from the board!

How does it work?

Due to the unique construction of a caster board, riding one is more akin to riding a snowboard than a skateboard. The stance remains perpendicular to the board, and the feet do not need to leave the board to gain speed. While riding, one can also carve back and forth, making heel and toe-side turns. Initially, one places their front foot (depending on which way you ride) on the front of the board, which is uni-directional. The back foot is then used to give a couple quick pushes for initial momentum and, once stability is achieved, is brought onto the back of the board. Once on the board, and riding, the independent motion capabilities of the front and back of the board allow it to twist along the lengthwise axis. This lets the rider turn or even propel the board forward without removing his or her feet from the board.
The motion required to maintain or gain speed on a flat or uphill surface is called a "swizzle," and the act of moving the board in such a manner is called "swizzling." The motion requires that the board be twisted so as to slide either just the back foot or both the front and back feet side to side, essentially pushing the board forward at the outside of the movement, before the foot is brought back in the other direction. In principle, the act is similar to what is required to propel one who is riding roller blades forward.

How to Ride?

Method 1
At first, put a foot on the front part of the board and run the board by pushing on the ground with the other foot. After you have gained motion, put the other foot on the back of the board, then make the board go forward just like a snake would move forward by swinging the waist and two thighs.

Method 2
Put both feet on the decks of the board at the same time, then bend the body forward in the meantime, and run or slide forward by inertia. Then make the board go forward like a snake would move forward by swinging the waist and two thighs or stretching on the decks with left or right foot.

With a 360 degree rotation dual-wheel construction, the independent dual surfaces rotate thanks to a central torsion bar, that provides the ability to glide around providing high speeds and economical motion. You can maintain forward motion by using your feet to alternate board rotations and hence ride the board with speed and style. Once familiar with the dynamics of the board, endless tricks and manoeuvres can be performed.
